From 1994 until around 2005 I was fortunate to participate in FATHERS Team efforts with a group of men from Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church. These efforts at 6:03 a.m. on Friday mornings often took dedication both in attending and “homework” that we would be accountable for to our teammates. 🙂 This experience dramatically changed my spiritual life and I’m indebted to Ron Rand for starting the FATHERS Team program and to Dan Parker for the initial efforts to get the MWPC group started.
Most years we used FATHERS Team materials created by Rev. Ron Rand though we sometimes ventured out into other readings.
The MWPC FATHERS alumni still get together periodically for breakfast. We enjoyed such a gathering on June 10th, 2016. Among the topics we discussed were
- MWPC FATHERS Team “roster” over the years (still needs some additions?)
- Format that we used (signals, song, lesson, huddle prayer at end with hands on other guy’s shoulders)
- Great Players of the Past have included Dan Parker’s dad, Bob Davis, Jim Dockendorff, Lee Davis (still needs some additions?)
